Red Cinder Creativity Center , August 2006

In August 2006 I had two undisturbed weeks to make art at the Red Cinder Creativity Center on the Big Island of Hawaii. There were three painters and two writers in residence at this unique compound in a rain forest, not far from the volcano and close to all the natural wonders in Hawaii. Both the company and the environment were conducive to experimentation. I responded especially to the plant life and climate changes, using the rain as a painting partner.
